SUPPORT THE CHOLERA RESPONSE
The Alliance for Community Action approached the Ministry of Health to ask how we could support the ongoing cholera response. The Lusaka Sub district one (1) – (Chelstone and surrounding areas), where our office is situated requested as to support their call for contributions from the public of any readily available material or financial assistance for use in their active response to the outbreak of Cholera.
Below are some of the items required by the sub-district:
- Volunteer your “Car” and Time for 1-2hrs, Mornings or Afternoons driving around communities and volunteers disseminating cholera information.
- Donate fuel (or fuel money) for gen-sets and volunteer vehicles.
- Volunteer/lend your Gensets for a day or two, to power Sound Systems during information Dissemination.
- Volunteer/lend your Sound System or Megaphone for a day or two for easier and faster information Dissemination.
- Volunteer your morning, afternoon or evening to be at information centres around the city or community sensitization
- Donate Talk-time to aid in communication among health care workers and volunteers

14. Garbage bins (250l X 20)
15. Bin liners (200)
16. Transport
17. Communication for officers on the ground (airtime and internet bundles)
18. Refreshments (500 drinks)
As an organisation, we have opened a drop-in box and register to assist with the collection of donations. All items dropped with us shall be fully accounted for and publicized as and when they come. A final list of items and donors will also be published on our website and social media pages.
Our staff members have also volunteered to help with the cleaning efforts within the sub-district. We would also like to encourage you to make generous donations to this cause.
