ACA Holds Community Screening in Choma

Duty bearers play an important role in the production of community-based news stories by citizen journalists as they are the right people to answer questions and concerns raised by citizens.

Councilors of Simacheche and Mubula wards were in attendance during the Speak Up Youth Citizen Journalism community screening at BYTA FM where the ACA was sharing the news stories produced by the current cohort of citizen journalists in Choma and how these stories are linked to the management of public resources and social accountability. The Ministry of Education representatives and the WDC were in attendance too.

Simacheche Ward Councilor, Donald Simaato reacting to one of the stories shared

Congratulations to the citizen journalists in Choma for being exceptional in the execution of their duties and bringing the community closer to their duty-bearers.

The Speak Up Youth Project is implemented in partnership with BYTA FM in Choma, Sun FM on the Copperbelt, Voice of Kalomo in Kalomo and Breeze FM in Chipata with support from the German Development Cooperation.
