The goal of the project was to empower the women of Munali Constituency in Lusaka Zambia to understand and implement the power their numbers give them to influence electoral outcomes, engage in governance and improve the quality of public services their communities access – and through them to carry out national-level advocacy that encourages poor women to be a force in elections and governance generally that cannot be ignored. The project trained a total of 210 women in the 5 wards from Munali Constituency, with an understanding of their rights to demand a minimum standard of service delivery, actively demanding a minimum standard of service delivery from a rights-based approach, with an increased voice for ordinary women and ultimately women that informed voters.
